George Foreman 5-Serving Submersible Grill
The 5-Serving Submersible repeats its smaller relative's washing trick. What it adds matters more than the extra serving. You can turn the heat down.

$61.99 at AmazonColeman Fold N Go + Propane Grill
Around $89.99 buys the Coleman that does one thing only. It writes down everything it will not do. You are paying for a lid that comes down over dinner.

Weber Smokey Joe 14 Charcoal Grill
The Smokey Joe is the whole Weber kettle argument, shrunk and priced at $54.99. Two dampers, porcelain enamel, and ten years on the parts that rust. Just settle what the grate is made of before you decide how to look after it.
Our score: 8.1 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal grill · Read our review
$54.99 at AmazonGeorge Foreman 4-Serving Panini Grill
Removable plates are the reason to choose this Foreman over a fixed-plate one. They wash in a machine. When the coating wears, you replace a plate, not the grill.
Our score: 8.0 out of 10 · Type: Electric indoor grill · Read our review
$41.99 at AmazonWeber Jumbo Joe Charcoal Grill 18
The Jumbo Joe is the 18-inch kettle's grate and fire without the kettle's legs. Put it on a table and it cooks just like its taller sibling. If you cannot give it a table, the $129.00 Original Kettle earns its premium.
Our score: 7.8 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal grill · Read our review
$89.99 at AmazonGrill Gifts Under $200
Weber Original Kettle Charcoal Grill 22
The kettle answers its own question. Weber took out the instruments, not the cooking, and then priced its griddle above the grill. If you will read coals rather than a dial, $149.00 buys plenty of fire.
Our score: 8.4 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal kettle grill · Read our review
Nexgrill Fortress 1-Burner Tabletop Grill
The Fortress 1-Burner put its budget into metal instead of flame. It is patient rather than fierce, and it cooks that way. Light it early and keep the lid shut, and the trade pays.
Our score: 8.3 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$109.97 at AmazonChar-Broil Performance 22 Tabletop Griddle
The Performance Series 22 puts a full-size plate and a serious fire on a tabletop. The weak link is neither the steel nor the burners. It is the bottle hanging off the side.

Hamilton Beach 38560 Cast Iron Electric Grill
The 38560 hands you the one indoor cooking surface you can bring back from the dead. It also hands you one you can ruin on a wet draining board. Buy it for the iron.

Weber Original Kettle Charcoal Grill 18
The 18 is the right Weber kettle for a small household with a small outdoor space. It cooks exactly like the bigger bowls, only for fewer people. If you often feed six, spend the extra $20 and buy the 22.

$126.99 at AmazonGrill Gifts Under $500
Weber Spirit E-325 Gas Grill
Buy the E-325 if you want two working heats on one grate without banking coals. The Sear Zone is a genuine change in how a Spirit gets cooked on. Just understand what Weber did here.
Our score: 8.6 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$499 at AmazonWeber Master-Touch Charcoal Grill 22
The Master-Touch spends its extra money on the cook, not on the coals. Nothing it adds burns hotter. If you use GBS inserts or hate stooping, $60 over the Premium is fair.
Our score: 8.4 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal grill · Read our review
$289 at AmazonWeber Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker 18
The 18 is the size most people who want this system should own. Weber scaled up the fire and left the instruments untouched. Add a probe thermometer and the middle size asks nothing extra of you.

$419 at AmazonNexgrill Daytona 4-Burner Flat Top Griddle
The Daytona 720-1058 puts a lot of fire under a lot of steel. Four burners that light alone turn the fourth knob into a holding area. That is the only one this griddle has, and it is enough.

$399.77 at AmazonGrill Gifts Under $1,000
Broil King Regal Pellet 400
Broil King built a pellet grill its gas customers would recognise. Heavy, gasketed, cast iron, with the rotisserie already in the box. What it did not build is a line saying how hot Grill goes.
Our score: 8.8 out of 10 · Type: Pellet grill · Read our review
$825.89 at AmazonWeber Spirit EX-325 Smart Gas Grill
Weber did not build a better Spirit here, it built one that reports back. On a long, slow cook that is genuinely useful, and the alerts are not oversold. Buy it for the waiting, not for the fire.
Our score: 8.6 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$599 at AmazonWeber Genesis E-315 Gas Grill
Buy the E-315 if you want one large surface that behaves the same everywhere. Weber drew no map on this grate, so you make the cool side yourself. The money goes into area and into years, and Weber puts both in writing.
Our score: 8.4 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$899 at AmazonChar-Broil Pro Series 4-Burner Gas Grill and Griddle
Buy this one if you want all three modes and can spare the wall. Char-Broil put the griddle and the charcoal trays in with the grill. It also built somewhere to keep them.
Our score: 8.3 out of 10 · Type: Gas griddle · Read our review
$649.99 at AmazonNexgrill Oakford 875 Pro Pellet Smoker Grill
The Oakford 875 Pro is a well-equipped pellet barrel, and its controller leads the class. Read the area figure carefully, because two fifths of it is a wire rack. Nexgrill built a cooker that counts your remaining hours of fire, then hides its low end.

$649 at AmazonSplurge Gifts Over $1,000
Kamado Joe Classic II
The Classic II is the same ceramic grill with a much better lid. That lid is also what your hands are on all evening. At $1,499.99 that is a hard sell, and at the street price it stops being one.
Our score: 8.9 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal kamado · Read our review
$1,499 at AmazonWeber Summit Kamado E6 Charcoal Grill
Weber swapped a kamado's mass for a barrier and got a quicker cooker. The steel answers the crack risk, and the casters answer the lifting. What goes unanswered is what $1,399.00 leaves out.
Our score: 8.9 out of 10 · Type: Charcoal kamado · Read our review
$1,399 at AmazonBroil King Regal Pellet 500
Broil King built the bigger Regal Pellet by enlarging the box and leaving the fire alone. Everything that makes heat came over from the 400 unchanged. You get more grid per dollar, and you refill the hopper sooner.
Our score: 8.6 out of 10 · Type: Pellet grill · Read our review
$1,399 at AmazonBroil King Crown 520 Shadow
The Crown 520 Shadow is a grate and a box, done properly, and nothing else. If five zones and cast iron are the point, the metal holds up. Broil King built one very good cooking surface and hung nothing beside it.
Our score: 8.5 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$1,099 at AmazonWeber Genesis E-415 Gas Grill
The E-415 is where fire and grate stop growing in the Genesis range. Everything above it charges for hardware bolted around a cookbox you already have. If you want a big, even, four-zone surface, this is the one.
Our score: 8.5 out of 10 · Type: Gas grill · Read our review
$1,299 at AmazonGift Tips
Is a grill a good gift?
Yes, if you know where it will live. A balcony may only allow electric, an apartment complex may ban open flame, and a family that grills twice a week needs more room than a couple. When in doubt, a small portable grill is welcome even in a house that already has a big one.
Gas, charcoal or pellet?
Gas is the easiest to live with, charcoal gives the most flavor for the money, and pellet grills make smoking almost hands off. If you are not sure, a charcoal kettle is the safest choice: it is cheap, it lasts, and it does a bit of everything.
When should I buy?
Grill prices often drop around Black Friday, and big grills can take a week or more to arrive. See our Black Friday grill deals for current sales.
