The Q 2400, unless you only ever cook for two. It costs around $299 against $349 and gives 91 more square inches, in the same cast aluminium and enamelled cast iron. The Q 1400's case is concentration: the same 1,560 watts under 189 sq in, about 8.3 per square inch against 5.6. It is also the one Weber still sells on its US site.

The same element, two thirds of the grate
Neither grill can draw more than 1,560 watts. On the Q 1400 every square inch gets roughly half as much again as on the Q 2400. Six cold burgers dent the big grate harder.

The bigger grill is the cheaper one
That inversion is the whole pair. The Q 2400 sells near $299 on Amazon; Weber asks $349.00 for the Q 1400. A lower price on a larger grill usually means the maker is moving on.

One page is live, one is gone
Weber's US site no longer serves a page for 55020001. The Q 1400's page is still up and priced. Both carry five years on the cookbox and two on the element, but only one has an obvious parts route.
