Look at the Neevo 720 Plus head on and count the control panels. There are two. One is the grill’s red-knobbed LED strip. The other belongs to a separate oven sitting in its own bay.
That oven is the air fryer, and it runs on electricity. A power cord leaves the cabinet for a household outlet. The propane tank underneath feeds it nothing at all.
Nexgrill also sells a plain Neevo 720, model 720-1054. Its published grill specifications match this 720-1055 exactly. That narrows this review to one thing worth measuring. What does the air fryer actually cost you?

First Impressions of the Nexgrill Neevo 720 Plus
Assembled, this is one of the longest carts you can put on a residential patio. It finishes at 69.29 inches wide. Nearly all of that extra length is the oven bay on the left.
Stand back and the two halves read as different products. The grill side is a domed stainless hood with a wide viewing window. The oven side is a squared box with a glass door and a touch panel. They share a black cabinet and a stainless base, and very little else.
The first cook makes the split obvious in a friendlier way. Burgers over the cast-iron grates mark hard and taste the way gas should. Behind glass, a tray of wings browns at the same time. Two cooks run at once on two different fuels, with nobody queueing.
That is genuinely useful. It is also the moment the machine stops feeling like one invention. Nothing about those wings needed the grill to be standing there.
Key Features of the Nexgrill Neevo 720 Plus
Almost everything here belongs clearly to one half of the cart or the other. Reading the feature list that way is more honest than reading it as a whole. The grill half is conventional, and that is not a criticism.
- A 13.8 qt electric air oven: Nexgrill’s product page names bake, air fry, broil and toast. Its own blog says seven modes, and the count is not settled anywhere. Inside are upper and lower elements, a convection fan and a light.
- Two 22,000 BTU stainless steel main burners: They add up to the published 44,000 BTU total. No part of that gas reaches the oven. Two burners under a wide firebox is coarse, but each has its own knob.
- LED Controls: A white LED display runs across the stainless control panel. The NEX-fi enabled SureTemp controller holds a setting rather than drifting. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connects it to the Nexgrill app.
- Cast-iron: Both main grates are cast iron under a porcelain coat. They store heat well and leave proper bar marks. Chipped porcelain is the usual long-term failure, so treat them gently.
- Stainless steel: The main lid, the burners, the flame tamers and the control panel are all stainless. That is most of what sees direct heat. The cabinet below is painted black steel.
- Electric Igniter: Ignition is electronic and separate for each of the two burners. There is no shared spark box to fail across the whole grill. One dead igniter leaves the other burner working.
- Temperature probes and app reporting: Probes plug in and send food readings to the phone. Nexgrill does not publish how many come in the box. The grill also lights and runs with no app involved.
- A tank hole rather than a pullout tray: Nexgrill lists the tank enclosure as a hole in the cart floor. The cylinder stands inside the cabinet behind doors. There is no sliding tray to draw it out.
The grill half is ordinary in a way the specifications make easy to check. Two burners at 22,000 BTU each sit over a 455.8 square inch grate. Divided out, that is close to 96 BTU for each square inch. That is unremarkable at this size.
Two burners is the real constraint, not the output. A wide firebox with two controls gives you two zones and no more. Cast iron evens out some of what the burner spacing leaves uneven. The SureTemp controller then holds whatever you set, which matters most on a long roast.
Now look at what the oven contributes to any of that. Nothing at all, on Nexgrill’s own numbers. The plain Neevo 720 publishes the same 714.30 square inch total and the same 455.8 primary. Its 258.50 square inch secondary figure is the same warming rack.
So the headline surface figure describes the grill and only the grill. The 13.8 quart oven sits outside it entirely. It is measured in volume, because it is a different appliance.
Build, handling and durability
The grill half is put together the way Nexgrill usually builds at this level. Stainless lid, stainless burners, steel flame tamers, cast-iron grates. Nothing exotic, nothing obviously thin, and a removable grease tray underneath.
The oven half is where the durability question actually lives. It is a countertop-style electric appliance, and nothing about it is built for weather. A glass door, a touch panel and a convection fan all live outdoors permanently now. A cover stops being optional the moment this cart is delivered.
Nexgrill cannot keep its own caster count straight. A feature bullet on Nexgrill’s page promises four casters. The specification table on the same page says two casters and two wheels. The photography shows four wheels without settling which of them turn.
Nexgrill publishes no weight for either Neevo. That is unhelpful on a machine this long, so arrange a second pair of hands regardless.
Running costs, upkeep and value
Running this cart means two supplies rather than one. The burners run on propane; the oven runs off a wall socket. An extension lead across a patio is the wrong answer. A proper outdoor socket is part of the real cost.
The value case is unusually easy to see, because Nexgrill publishes the control experiment itself. The plain Neevo 720 carries the same burners, output, grates and surfaces. What the Plus adds is the oven and 17.32 inches of extra width. Everything you pay above the plain model buys an appliance, not a better grill.
The warranty split says something similar. Nexgrill gives the burners 5 years and puts everything else on 1 year. The electric oven is the least weatherproof part of this machine. It sits in the shorter group.
Upkeep divides along the same line. The grill wants its grease tray emptied and its cast iron kept dry and oiled. The oven wants its crumb tray and basket washed like any kitchen fryer. Neither job is hard, and there are simply two of them.
Possible Nexgrill Neevo 720 Plus Complaints
- The smart grill’s oven is not smart: NEX-fi, SureTemp and the app all stop at the grill. The oven runs from its own touch panel and reports nothing to your phone. A buyer drawn in by the connected-cooking pitch should know it covers half the machine. Nothing is broken here, but the marketing and the hardware are not describing the same object.
- The width is permanent and the oven is not weatherproof: 69.29 inches is a lot of wall, and you cannot reclaim it. That oven is also a household appliance living outside through winter. It carries the 1-year warranty rather than the 5-year one. Buying a cover on the same day is the sensible move.
