Napoleon sells covers by grill, not by size. The 61500 is drawn for two of them, the Prestige PRO 500 and the Prestige 500. Both run 66.25 to 66.5 inches wide.
The cover clears the taller of them by a quarter of an inch. That is a tailored cut, and it carries a tailored price. The same Amazon page sells a third-party cover for both grills. It costs less than half as much.
So the question is narrow. Is a cut this close worth paying twice for? Napoleon will not even say what the cloth weighs.

First Impressions of the Napoleon 61500
It reads as a fitted cover from across the yard. A raised box sits up top where the lid goes. The shoulders slope down to the shelves, and the skirt drops straight to the cart.
The face carries a small Napoleon badge and a vertical seam down the middle. That seam is the hook and loop panel, and it matters more than the badge. Buckled straps hang at each side.
At a listed 3 lb, it folds into a bundle you can tuck under one arm. Napoleon calls the fabric water resistant and adds UV inhibitors against fading.
The silences on the spec sheet say as much. There is no fabric weight, no named coating and no word on seams. The sales pitch rests on the shape.
Key Features of the Napoleon 61500
This cover earns its keep in the hardware: how it clips on and opens up. The cloth itself is described in very few words.
- Cut for two models. Napoleon names the Prestige PRO 500 and the Prestige 500. It publishes no exclusions.
- Buckled straps. They clip under the side shelves, so wind cannot lift the skirt.
- Hook and loop front panel. It opens for the cabinet without moving the rest of the cover.
- Rear vent. Napoleon says it lets air move to fight mildew and helps on gusty days.
- UV inhibitors. The maker says the fabric will not fade or crack.
- Hanging loops. The cover hangs on a hook when the grill is in use.
The front panel is the feature a universal cover rarely copies. It turns a two-handed job into a quick reach into the cart.
Fit and coverage
Napoleon publishes the cover at 68 x 28 x 52 inches. The Amazon listing’s own table sets the grills beside it. The Prestige PRO 500 RSIB measures 66.5 by 25.5 by 51.75 inches. The Prestige 500 measures 66.25 by 26.5 by 50.25.
Do the subtraction and the cut shows. The PRO 500 gets 1.5 inches of width and 2.5 of depth. Its height margin is 0.25 inches.
Over the Prestige 500 the gaps are 1.75, 1.5 and 1.75. Neither grill swims in it. The Prestige 500 is the easier one to dress, with more room overhead.
Height is where Napoleon left itself almost no slack. It means the skirt reaches the cart instead of hovering. It also means Napoleon’s word “approximate” carries weight. A cover that ran a little short would ride high on the PRO.
The straps under the shelves do the rest. A close shell held at two points has little slack for wind to grab.
Napoleon’s page names only these two grills. Own a newer edition? Measure it against 68 x 28 x 52 inches before ordering. A name on the box is not a promise about a later model.
Weather protection and durability
Napoleon’s claim is water resistant, with improved UV inhibitors for fade resistance. It promises the fabric will not crack. Those are the right goals for a black cover left in summer sun.
Moisture from below is the job of the rear vent.
Trapped damp breeds mildew on the cover’s underside. Napoleon’s own care note says to dry the cover after rain for the same reason. Its pages say one rear vent, while the Amazon title says air vents, plural. Count them when it arrives.
Durability is where the case thins. No fabric weight is published, and neither is any seam treatment. You are trusting the badge rather than a figure you can compare.
Napoleon backs it for three years, limited, a fair term for fabric. Napoleon does not publish what those terms exclude, though.
Handling, upkeep and value
Day to day, the front panel earns its keep. You can open the cabinet with the cover still on. The buckles release one-handed, and the whole cover folds small enough to hang on its loops.
Upkeep is simple. Dry it after rain, and never fit it while the grill is still hot. Napoleon prints both warnings.
Value is the hard part. In October 2026 Amazon sold it for $94.72. Napoleon’s list price is $121.99.
On the same page a Loenel cover sells for $42.99. It claims 68 inches by 28, matching Napoleon’s width and depth, at 50 inches tall. That rival also prints a fabric weight, which Napoleon does not.
So the premium buys a taller skirt, the front panel and Napoleon’s name on the warranty. Only you can price a closer hem.
Possible Napoleon 61500 Complaints
- The fabric spec is a blank. Napoleon gives no weight and names no coating. A buyer comparing cloth has nothing to hold against a rival. The warranty is the only backstop.
- The price runs ahead of the evidence. Over twice the third-party price buys a closer cut and a better front. It does not buy published proof of tougher cloth. Watch for the list price to slip, as it already has on Amazon.
