The Unicook B63-015 is a black bonnet cover for the Weber Q200 and Q2000 series. Unicook sells it as a replacement for Weber’s own 7111. It costs about $20 on Amazon, checked on 2026-10-19.
Here is the odd part. On paper, Unicook says more about its cloth than Weber said about the original. Unicook prints a named fade test and a grade. Yet its own height figure is the lower of the two makers’ numbers.
So the question is simple. Is a better documented cloth worth a shorter skirt on a small Q?

First Impressions of the Unicook B63-015
This is a soft dome of black polyester with a drawstring through the hem. Unicook’s artwork shows the cord running through a metal eyelet and finishing at a toggle lock. There are no buckles, no straps and no handles in any of the maker’s material.
Inside, the cloth carries a vinyl coating. The gallery labels it plainly: polyester outside, vinyl inside. That backing gives the fabric some body, so the dome holds its shape in the photos.
On the grill, it sits like a shower cap. The maker’s own diagram shows it covering the lid and the cookbox, then stopping. Below the cookbox, the Q’s folding legs carry on uncovered. Any table under the grill does too.
Nobody needs a helper here. You drop it over the lid, tug the hem down and pull the cord tight. To lift it, loosen the toggle first and the dome slides free.
Key Features of the Unicook B63-015
Most of what sets this cover apart lives in the maker’s listing and gallery. Here is what Unicook actually documents.
- Vinyl-backed polyester. Unicook calls the backing waterproof and adds an extra water repellent coating on the outer face.
- A published fade test. The gallery shows Grade 4 colorfastness after 720 AFU under AATCC 16E. Weber’s own 7111 page names no such test.
- Double-stitched seams. Unicook names the stitching as its answer to tearing and abrasion.
- Adjustable drawstring. A single locking cord runs the full hem to keep the bonnet on in wind.
- Hose-down care. The care note says rinse with water and leave it to air dry.
- BBQ Cover. It is a fitted bonnet built for one grill family, not a universal bag.
Fit and coverage
Unicook names its grills clearly. The Q200 and Q2000 series appear in the copy and again in a gallery fit panel. Our own Weber Q 2000 review covers the grill this was matched to.
The exclusion is the more useful line. Unicook states that it does NOT fit Q2200 models. Plenty of third-party covers stretch their fit lists. This one shrinks it, and that earns trust.
Two things hold the score down. First, the height. Unicook lists 9.5 inches, while Weber’s figure for the 7111 is 32cm. The units differ and the axes may not match, but Weber’s is the taller number.
Second, Unicook’s highlight mentions “Side Tables Folding” and stops there. It never says whether raised tables will clear. If your Q lives with its tables up, that wording leaves you guessing.
Weather protection and durability
The weather case rests on two layers. Polyester takes the sun and the scuffs. The vinyl backing takes the rain, and Unicook adds a repellent coat on top. Its own copy swings between “waterproof” and “weather resistant”, so treat the stronger word as marketing.
Sunlight is the one threat Unicook actually puts numbers against. Unicook shows swatches before and after a 720 AFU light exposure, graded 4 under AATCC 16E. That is the maker’s own report, not a test we ran. Still, it is a method you can look up, which beats a bare promise.
There is one weather gap. No vent appears in any of Unicook’s material. A vinyl-backed dome with no vent can hold damp against the lid after a cold night.
Durability is thinner on paper. Double-stitched seams are documented and visible in the gallery close-ups. Denier is not published, and neither is a warranty. Missing figures are not failures, but they leave you trusting the seams on sight.
Handling, upkeep and value
Handling comes down to one cord. One pull closes the hem, and the cord lock holds it. On a light bonnet this size, that is quicker than threading straps round folding legs.
The vinyl backing also changes how you clean it. Weber tells 7111 owners to spot clean only. Unicook says hose it down and let it air dry. A garden hose replaces the bucket and sponge.
Value turns on availability as much as price. Weber’s old US page for the 7111 now redirects to its Baby Q cover. For a Q 2000 owner in the US, Weber’s own bonnet may simply be unavailable. At about $20, the Unicook fills that hole with more documentation than the original carried.
Possible Unicook B63-015 Complaints
- Condensation under the dome. The vinyl backing that sheds rain also slows drying from below. With no vent listed, cover the grill only once it is fully cool and dry. On damp weeks, lift it off for an hour on a sunny morning.
- Coverage stops at the cookbox. This is a bonnet, so the stand and legs are left bare. If your Q sits outside year round, the frame still takes the weather. A cart cover is a different purchase.
