Weber redrew the Performer 22 for 2026. A new cart shape needs a new cover. Part 3401369 is that cover. It fits the Performer and the Performer Smart 22, and Weber charges $64.99 for it.
The cut is careful.
Weber’s photographs show a stepped outline. It follows the kettle dome, then drops over the side table. The spec sheet behind it is thin. Weber gives the size, the weight and a promise of UV resistance, and almost nothing else.
So the question is simple. Is a precise fit worth $64.99 when the cloth itself is a black box?

It arrives folded flat. Laid flat, the cover shows one color, black, broken only by a red Weber badge. The box measures 11.25 by 7.25 by 2.75 inches. The whole cover weighs 1.5 pounds.
Draped over the cart, the shape makes sense. Weber’s studio shots show a tall dome over the bowl. A lower shoulder covers the table.
It is not a bag with a drawstring. It looks tailored, a little like a dust jacket made for one book.
Two details stand out in the photographs. A loop sits at the crown, the obvious place to grab. Down at floor level, a strap loops around a front leg.
The hem stops above the wheels and the leg feet. That keeps the fabric out of puddles. It also leaves the bottom of the frame open to the air.
Weber’s own list of features is short. Five lines on the product page cover everything it chose to say. What follows is that list, plus what the photographs add.
- Model-specific fit: Weber states it fits the Performer and Performer Smart 22 inch charcoal grills. The Amazon copy adds that it goes over grill and cart together.
- UV-inhibiting fabric: The one material claim on the page. It targets fading, the slow failure of any black cover in full sun.
- Two fastening straps: These connect to the cart. Weber does not say whether they buckle, clip or use hook and loop.
- Lightweight build: At 1.5 pounds, it lifts over the dome with one arm and folds small.
- Crown loop: Visible in every studio shot, it gives you a handle to pull from.
- BBQ Cover: This is the grill’s own fitted cover, sold separately from either Performer.
Missing from the list is just as telling. The fiber, its weight, any coating, any vent and the warranty all go unnamed by Weber.
Fit and coverage
The fit justifies most of the price. Weber lists it at 47 inches wide, 46 tall and 25 deep. With the lid closed, the Performer is 40.25 inches wide, 45 tall and 28 deep.
The extra 6.75 inches of width is the table at work. A round kettle cover cannot reach across that ledge. This one is drawn around it. The table edge sits inside the shell, not against a stretched corner.
Depth is the odd figure. On paper the cover is 3 inches shallower than the cart it covers. Weber does not say how it measured the fabric.
A cover measured flat can still wrap a deeper frame. We read this as a question, not a failure.
Height runs just 1 inch over the grill. That tells you the cover is cut to sit close on the dome. The open lid stands 47.5 inches tall. The cover was clearly not drawn for that.
On fit, the honest score is high. Weber designed the cart and the cover together, and the photographs show the result.
Weather protection and durability
Here the page goes quiet. Weber promises weather resistance and UV-inhibiting fabric, and stops there. It does not call the cover waterproof, and neither should you.
UV resistance is not a small thing on a black cover. Sun bleaches dark fabric grey long before it rips it. If the claim holds, the cover should keep looking like the grill’s own gear for longer.
There is no vent named on the page or visible in any photograph. A grill cover traps the damp a warm lid leaves behind. The open hem helps, since air can move up under the cart. A closed vent at the top would help more.
Durability is the weakest part of the record. Weber names no fiber and no denier. Nothing describes the seams or the stitching. The cover page publishes no warranty term at all.
That gap does not prove the cover is weak. It means you are buying on the Weber name and nothing printed. This cover lives outdoors all year. A buyer will feel that gap the day something tears.
Handling, upkeep and value
Day to day, this is an easy cover to live with. Pull it on by the crown loop and tug the front over the table. Then fasten the straps to the cart. At 1.5 pounds, one person handles it without a fight.
The listing contradicts itself on closure. Weber describes two straps that connect to the cart. Amazon’s detail table calls the closure a drawstring. The photographs show a strap at the leg and no drawstring, so trust the maker.
Upkeep instructions for 3401369 are not on the page. Weber’s older 7152 Performer cover says spot clean only. That note belongs to a different product, so treat it as a hint and no more.
On value, $64.99 matches Weber’s own price and Amazon’s on 19 October 2026. A Performer costs $449.00 and a Performer Smart $599.00. Against either, this is modest insurance.
The cost is not the problem. The missing specifications are.
- An empty spec sheet: Fiber, weight, seams and warranty all go unstated. If the fabric fails in its second winter, you have nothing printed to point to. Keep the receipt and register the purchase where you can.
- No vent for trapped damp: Covering a still-warm grill seals moisture under a dark shell. The raised hem lets some air in. Let the lid cool and dry before covering, and check underneath after long wet spells.
- Older Performers are left out: Weber’s 7152 cover fits Performer Premium and Deluxe grills from before 2026. This one names only the new carts, so measure before you assume.
