Weber’s store now lists two products called Premium Grill Cover. Both say Performer Premium on the tin. One is part 7152, the other part 3401382, and they do not fit the same grill.
The 7152 is the older of the two. Weber’s own pages tie it to the Performer Premium and Deluxe 22 built prior to 2026. The new Premium cart took a new cover with it.
So this review answers two questions. Does your grill take this cover at all? And if it does, is $64.99 a fair price for what Weber stitched?
2025Last model year the Amazon listing names
48.5 inLong side, sized for the full cart table
$13.00Cheaper than the 2026 Performer Premium cover
1 strapHook and loop, wrapped round one cart leg
It ships folded into a slim box about the footprint of a tablet. Pulled out, it is plain black polyester. One Weber badge with a red kettle logo breaks it up.
Fitted to the grill, it tells you which Performer it was made for. Weber’s studio frames show a squared box running the whole width of the cart. The kettle dome lifts one end into a soft peak, like a tent pole under canvas.
That box is the older Performer’s outline. Its work table runs flat beside the bowl, and the cover simply squares off over it.
Below the badge, the fabric ends short of the floor, clear of both wheels and casters. You can still see the axle rod and the bottom of the frame. No vent shows anywhere on the fabric, and no grab handle crowns the peak.
Weber says little about this cover on its own store. The regional pages and the Amazon listing fill in the rest. Here is what all of them add up to.
- Model-specific cut: Drawn for the 22 inch Performer Premium and Deluxe, kettle and cart together. Weber names no other grill.
- Polyester shell: Water-resistant by Weber’s description. Weber prints no fabric weight.
- Hook and loop strap: A close-up from Weber shows the tab wrapped round a cart leg, just over a caster.
- Built-in storage pouch: Sewn into a seam, it closes with a drawstring and hangs from a loop. You never see it on the grill.
- Light at 1.5 pounds: Easy to flip over a cooled lid from one side.
- BBQ Cover: Weber shipped the Premium and Deluxe bare, so this part was always an extra purchase.
The newer 3401382 brings two cart straps and a UV-inhibiting fabric claim. The 7152 brings neither.
Fit and coverage
Buy this cover by the date on your grill, not the name on it. That is the whole fit question, and Weber makes it harder than it should be.
Weber’s regional pages say “prior to 2026” and stop there. Amazon’s title reads 2005 to 2025 and warns it will not fit anything made before 2005. A retailer snippet suggests a later start still. So the opening year depends on whom you ask.
The end of the range is clearer. A Performer Premium from 2026 on wears the 3401382. That cover runs 46 inches tall and 53 wide. At 39.8 inches, the 7152 comes in 6.2 inches shorter.
Those are different carts, and Weber cut a different cover for each.
On the right grill, the cut looks deliberate. The 48.5 inch long side spans the table, and the box shape sits square on it. If you own a Performer Deluxe with Touch-N-Go, this is the cover drawn for it.
Weather protection and durability
Here the 7152 shows its age. Water-resistant is the only weather word Weber spends on it. The newer Performer covers carry a UV-inhibiting line. This one does not.
That matters on a black cover parked outside all year. Fading usually arrives before any tear does. Weber offers no promise either way, so plan on the sun winning eventually.
There is no vent. A bowl that is still warm sweats under polyester. The open hem lets some air rise from below, which helps. Wait until the bowl is cold to the touch.
Durability rests on a 3 year limited warranty. Amazon prints that term for Weber polyester covers, and Abt repeats it. On the maker’s 7152 pages, the warranty line is simply missing. Keep the receipt, because the warranty you would claim on is not on the maker’s page.
Handling, upkeep and value
Putting it on takes seconds. Drop the peak over the dome and square the box over the table. Then press one strap shut round a leg. The whole thing weighs 1.5 pounds.
The storage pouch is the clever part. When the grill is in use, the cover folds into its own bag. That bag lives inside the seam and disappears once the cover goes back on.
One strap is the weak point. Weber’s own copy says “fastening strap”, singular, and the photographs show one. Amazon’s safety note talks about straps, plural. In a gusty yard, one anchor is thin protection.
Care is spot clean only. Wipe off pollen and sap, then let it dry before you pack it.
At $64.99, it costs the same as Weber’s 3401369 for the base 2026 Performer. It sits $13.00 under the 2026 Premium cover. For an older cart, it is the only cover Weber makes in this shape.
- The year range is muddled: Weber says before 2026 with no start date, while Amazon draws a line at 2005. If your Performer predates the Premium and Deluxe names, check its cart against Weber’s photographs first.
- One strap in the wind: A single hook and loop tab at one leg is all that holds it. A strong gust can lift the opposite side. A bungee round the cart frame is a cheap fix.
- Thin weather claims: Water-resistant polyester, no vent and no UV line. Do not expect it to keep a grill bone dry through a wet winter.
